De-risking Technologies in a Controlled Environment
The NGIF ETC Program Lab at the Gates Research Group at the University of Calgary has a controlled simulation space to help companies with lower technology readiness levels (TRL) develop their products or ideas. The lab works closely with applicants to design and develop comprehensive test plans, conduct thorough testing, assist in collecting and analyzing data, and help companies create public reports.
The lab has a controlled environment that can be set between -40°C and +80°C with facilities to custom-construct apparatuses needed for testing new and emerging technologies. The Lab also has an external garage that is at ambient Calgary conditions which can be used for outdoor testing. This enables technology providers the opportunity to test and verify their technologies before field testing.
